The Balearics promise ‘worry free holiday’ with new on-demand PCR in hotels
THE Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, are among the 16 new destinations added to the green list from June 30. The archipelago has celebrated the decision and assured that Britons will be safe from COVID-19 during their long-awaited holiday.
The Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, has announced 16 new destinations have added to the green list. Britons can now travel to these countries restriction-free.
The Balearic Islands, in Spain, have been added to the “green watchlist” meaning they will stay on the list unless there is a spike in COVID-19 cases in the region.
However, the islands are confident they will remain on the restriction-free list as their COVID-19 rate is the lowest in Spain and 43 percent of the archipelago has already been vaccinated.
The Director of the Spanish Tourist Office, Javier Piñanes, said they are “delighted” with the decision.

According to current travel restrictions, it is permitted to go on holiday to green list countries without restrictions.
Britons coming back from green countries don’t need to quarantine although COVID-19 tests on arrival are required.
As opposed to other countries in the EU, Spain is currently welcoming all Britons without restrictions.
Travellers visiting the Balearic Islands this summer don’t need to present a PCR test or quarantine on arrival to Spain.
