Who Will Be Gossip Girl’s Breakout Style Star?

The press tour for the Gossip Girl reboot, which premieres on July 8, may have just begun—but there’s one star who’s already serving some serious looks. That would be Evan Mock, the model-turned-actor who plays the rich-kid Aki on the buzzy upcoming series. Last night in New York City, Mock hit up the official HBO Max premiere in a 1970s-style statement look that proves he’s one of the show’s breakout style stars.

The whole cast was out last night, and there were plenty of looks to be had. Tavi Gevinson wore a chic Stella McCartney dress covered in neon-bright florals; Emily Alyn Lind did a menswear-inspired look with a suit vest and tie, while Jordan Alexander went edgier via a white mesh mask with two large bows on the side, strapless corset, and wide-leg trousers. There were lots of statements made on the red carpet, and each actor certainly has their own distinctive style. But dressed in head-to-toe Gucci, Mock did a modern take on retro suiting and totally stood out from the pack.

Mock’s sleek look included a wide-lapel blazer, button-up shirt, and flared trousers. His cool accessories—including Gucci penny loafers, Gucci’s 1955 Horsebit mini bag, Pandora jewelry, and black shield-like sunglasses—gave it a youthful finish (as did his pink buzz cut). To be on a fashion-forward show like Gossip Girl means the pressure to have good press tour looks is on, and Mock is clearly already off to a strong start. Given Mock has modeled for labels like Calvin Klein and Louis Vuitton, something tells us many other designer labels will soon be knocking on his door to dress him, too. We can’t wait to see what fit he pulls out next.
