Battlegrounds Mobile India had a glitch that introduced issues with matchmaking and downloading new maps. Krafton has posted on the game’s official Discord server that it has rolled out a patch to fix the issues.
After restarting the Battlegrounds Mobile India app, players will get a prompt saying the issues have been fixed with the new patch. Krafton has also detailed steps to apply the patch, which are mentioned below:
- Tap on the arrow at the bottom right of the screen and go to ‘Settings’
- Tap the ‘Log out’ button
- Tap the ‘Repair’ button at the right-hand side of the screen
- Tap the ‘Ok’ button (ensure that the checkbox for ‘Routine Repair’ is marked) and the patch will be installed
- Close the app, restart the game and log-in to play
It’s surprising to see that players have to go through these steps to manually apply a patch, when most games do it automatically. But these issues may exist since Battlegrounds Mobile India is in its Early Access period. Players may no longer need to manually apply patches after the full official launch.
The launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India’s Early Access build has been pretty controversial so far. With politicians demanding a ban on the game and its YouTube community making racist comments in response, Krafton has stayed silent on the matter. A few days ago, IGN India had reported that Battlegrounds Mobile India was sending player data to servers based in China. At the time, sources familiar with Krafton’s plans had told us that the company is aware of data being sent to Chinese servers and it was working to fix this.
Krafton finally broke silence on the matter and issued a public statement yesterday to revealed that it is taking “concrete” actions to address this issue. The company will “continue to closely monitor and protect any data being transferred to unexpected and restricted IP addresses prior to official launch.” Krafton has justified the data transfer by saying that the game uses vague “third party solutions” to offer vaguely “unique game features.” It seems that the Battlegrounds Mobile India community is satisfied with the statement that doesn’t really take responsibility for anything specific, but promises to fix the issue nonetheless.
